Providing C5ISR Solutions That Allow You to Turn Data Into Action
Never before have decision makers and military leaders been provided as much information as they have today. Yet, with the increased volume, velocity, and complexity of data, these critical decision makers are confronted with challenges in assessing the data and its integrity fast enough to make decisions that maintain military advantage and protect our warfighters and assets. Sabre Systems’ C5ISR solutions support the rapid delivery of accurate, easily interpreted data.
When lives and security are at stake – the speed and reliability of the data is as important as the data itself.

Some Highlights Of Our Work
SABRE C5ISR SOLUTIONS AT WORK
Littoral and Advanced Sensor Technologies, NAVAIR
Sabre supported the U.S. Navy Advanced Sensor Technology (AST) Program Office with High Performance Computing (HPC) management, Littoral Surveillance Radar System (LSRS), Advanced Airborne Sensor (AAS), and Integrated Test Teams. Our work directly impacted and enabled operational improvements for the legacy U.S. Navy P-3C aircraft for LSRS and the development of new capabilities with an order of magnitude performance improvement for the new P-8A aircraft AAS. C5ISR services included the development, test, and integration of these new sensor capabilities and their integration, including near-real-time products into command networks. These C5ISR assets afford Component Commanders with a range of options to increase warfighting effectiveness by ensuring a situational awareness advantage, achieving information dominance throughout all campaign phases, and providing on-demand, actionable sensor data to support precision targeting against threats at sea and on land.
RF Modeling & Simulation, CERDEC S&TCD
Sabre was a key player in developing requirements and strategies for addressing and resolving radio frequency (RF) Interference Mitigation issues that occur between communications electronic warfare (EW) and other RF systems operating in close proximity on common platforms. This work included identifying and developing technologies, and conducting evaluations. We performed this work for the U.S. Army Communications-Electronics Research, Development and Engineering Center (CERDEC) Science and Terrestrial Communications Directorate (S&TCD). The work included support for Project Manager (PM) EW and PM Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP). Sabre conducted extensive RF Modeling & Simulation using various electromagnetic compatibility software tools to analyze and conduct RF assessments for ground and air platform integration. Analyses included antenna platform placement optimization and interactions with various terrestrial and aerial platform RF systems, conducting “what if” analyses prior to physical implementations, assessing EW/Blue Force compatibility and Electromagnetic radiation hazards evaluations for fuel, ordinance and personnel.
Dynamic Spectrum Access (DSA), Soldier Radio Waveform
Sabre provided key support and analysis in the development of the DSA technology solution for Soldier Radio Waveform. Specifically, our analysis showed how DSA could improve the spectrum utilization of licensed DoD bands and supported network engineering efforts. The work drew heavily from the fields of artificial intelligence, cognitive radio and networking initiatives, natural language understanding, machine learning, and advanced networking social sciences. These efforts covered the spectrum of cognitive, semantic, and social networks and included the principles of machine learning, game theory, genetic algorithms, cognitive radio, and computer and cooperative networks.
RF Spectrum Management Expertise, CERDEC S&TCD
Sabre supports U.S. Army Communications-Electronics Research, Development and Engineering Center (CERDEC) Science and Terrestrial Communications Directorate (S&TCD) with senior level electrical and radio frequency (RF) engineers supporting the antenna, RF modeling & simulation, spectrum, and electromagnetics arenas. This expertise includes conducting RF assessments both in lab and field environments in Afghanistan; assisting in the development of new RF spectrum management tools (CJSMPT, EMBM); leading operational assessments for spectrum tools (Spectrum XXI); training users in spectrum management and use of new tools; assessing, implementing and working on solutions to enable communications in the presence of interference; and using modeling and simulation tools to enable the evaluation of EW effects on various platforms, subsequently recommending solutions. EMBM provides an integrated RF spectrum planning and management capability that enables automation of the spectrum management process, provides the capability to de-conflict Counter IED Jammers from friendly RF systems, predicts interference events, generates reports, and graphically represents affected friendly communications systems.
Electronic Warfare Doctrine and Training, TCM EW
Sabre developed Electronic Warfare (EW) doctrine and exercise support for The U.S. Army TRADOC Capabilities Manager – Electronic Warfare (TCM EW) including Defensive Electronic Attack (DEA) mission and capability requirements. We developed a Concept of Operations (CONOPS) in support of DEA. CONOPS will later be used to develop a Capabilities Development Document (CDD).
RF Engineering Analysis for CERDEC and NAVAIR
In support of the US Army Communications-Electronics Research, Development and Engineering Center (CERDEC Sabre engineers) and the US Navy Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR), Sabre engineers have conducted complex engineering analyses of Radio Frequency (RF) sensor equipment. The analyses were critical to ensuring RF sensors and systems met the challenging specifications and needs of warfighter399s in a hostile and austere battlespace environment.
Sabre engineers modelled and then built a prototype of Sabre’s innovative concept for using a new type of log-periodic antenna structure embedded in glass. This in-house project demonstrated that transparent antennas mounted in vehicular windshields was an effective and more survivable battlefield solution to traditional antenna placement. As part of the project Sabre reviewed measurements made at the Electronic Proving Ground (EPG) in Arizona on a multiple versions of the transparent antenna design, further validating the success.
