Board of Directors – VADM (Ret.) Johhny Wolfe

Vice Admiral (Ret.) Johnny Wolfe joined the Board of Directors for Sabre Systems, LLC after his recent retirement from the U.S. Navy.

VADM Wolfe has more than 35 years of leadership experience in naval engineering and strategic weapons systems, beginning his career as a U.S. Navy submarine officer. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Marine Systems Engineering from the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy and a Master of Science in Applied Physics from the Naval Postgraduate School, where he was selected to transfer to the Engineering Duty Officer community.

VADM Wolfe was promoted to Rear Admiral in 2014, serving as Program Executive for Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense at the Missile Defense Agency. In 2018 he was promoted to Vice Admiral and served as Director of Strategic Systems Programs, overseeing the Navy’s nuclear weapons programs including the Trident II (D5LE) SLBM system, the SLCM-N program, and the Conventional Prompt Strike hypersonic capability.

Over his career with Strategic Systems Programs, he held a variety of leadership roles across both operational and technical organizations, advancing through progressively senior positions including Technical Director and Deputy Direct Reporting Program Manager. In addition, he served in critical staff assignments including Lead Systems Engineer for a Ballistic Missile Defense Office joint project and Technical Investigator for the Columbia Accident Investigation Board.
