Jack Burbank

Current Role

As Vice President and lead of Sabre’s Army and Advanced Communications Business Unit, Mr. Burbank leads Sabre Army programs and operations and serves as the chief solutions architect for all communications and networking solutions within Sabre. He also leads Science, Technology, Research, and Development activities at Sabre, guiding teams that design and develop next-generation wireless capabilities for the U.S. Government and defense customers.

Education

Mr. Burbank holds a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from North Carolina State University and is currently pursuing his PhD in Electrical Engineering at the University of North Dakota, with his dissertation research focused on Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) in GPS-denied environments. His strong academic foundation in electrical engineering has been instrumental in shaping his expertise in advanced communications and wireless systems.

Career Experience

With over 25 years of experience designing advanced capabilities for the U.S. Government, Mr. Burbank brings deep expertise to his role. Prior to joining Sabre, he spent 19 years at The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (JHU/APL), serving in technical leadership positions. Mr. Burbank is a recognized expert in wireless networking, modeling and simulation, and network security, with over 50 technical papers and two Wiley books. He is also a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), active in editorial and technical review roles.
