Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V)

Sabre has extensive experience serving as an independent test agent by performing IV&V, one of the later stages of systems engineering. IV&V provides a measure of how accurately the product meets performance specifications and operational requirements. It is performed by an independent party who reports directly to the management of the program and is funded independently. IV&V is performed throughout the life cycle of the project, not only at the end. For example, a low-level design document would be validated against high-level design documents written earlier in the life cycle. Because it is ongoing, IV&V can catch deviations from the specification early, when the deviations are cheaper to correct.
